This means that the management of all software components and their associated documents must be excellent.

Given that DSDM is to be used for the development of systems that are urgently needed, the feasibility study is necessarily a short, sharp exercise. Some organizations are so cautious in the run-up to development that feasibility studies can take as long as two years before it is finally agreed by all parties that all the ins and outs of the problem have been considered. The DSDM feasibility study will last no more than a few weeks. Therefore the feasibility report will cover all the usual topics but not in great detail.

The use of timeboxes is discussed in more detail in Chapter 4. DSDM has clearly addressed how to control iteration through timeboxing. It does not address the issues involved in incremental delivery. This is because incremental delivery has no distinct DSDM flavor other than the fact that not everything may be delivered in an increment. However, a few words here about the subject may be worthwhile. Incremental delivery is extremely valuable in delivering quality working systems to the business faster.
